The 45th Annual Best of the Bluegrass - Festival of the Horse Returns to Celebrate Community's Roots

Popular community celebration returns with three days of parades, family fun, vendors and live music

GEORGETOWN, KY, UNITED STATES, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The 45th Annual Best of the Bluegrass - Festival of the Horse returns to Downtown Georgetown, Kentucky September 11-13th, bringing Kentucky craft vendors, an electric lineup of Regional & local musicians, a craft beer garden, all of your favorite festival foods, family-fun activities like Fox Creek Amusement rides as well as the Grand Parade of Horses presented by Family Wealth Group, Centerpoint Health’s Colt & Filly Review Parade and more at this free-admission event that celebrates the best of the Bluegrass. Per the City of Georgetown: candy throwing will not be allowed during the Children’s Parade; Candy may only be handed out by walkers in the parade.

As this year’s event coincides with the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, a special public remembrance ceremony will be held on the Country Boy Brewing Stage on Friday September 11, at 3:45pm. Veterans are invited to join our local public servants in leading the Colt & Filly Review Parade on Friday evening. On Saturday evening, Michael Blowen and Little Brown of Old Friends will serve as Grand Marshals of the Grand Parade of Horses.

Live music takes centerstage all weekend with local and regional artists performing on the Country Boy Stage. Featuring The Goodwin Brothers, Savannah Dean Reeves, Chris Linton and much more!

Fest fun facts:
66+ vendor booths, ranging from handmade woodworking and crafts to jewelry, apparel, artistry, home décor, located along Main Street.

Numerous food and beer vendors highlighting gelato, brews, international cuisine, gourmet burgers, cocktails, mead and more.

Festival activities: Centerpoint Health’s Colt & Filly Review Parade – the largest parade in the county (Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m.); The Grand Parade of Horses presented by Family Wealth Group (Sept. 12 at 5 p.m.) Blessing of the Animals and Scott County Humane Society’ Pet Parade (Sept. 13 at 1:30pm)
There will be exciting street performers & roaming entertainment throughout the event including The Kentucky Balloon Man, and Sky’s the Limit Stilt Walking.

Other festival events: On Thursday Sept, 10, The Fireman’s Chili Cookoff begins at 6pm. On Saturday, Sept. 12, we will have the Scott County Public Library, Scott County Farmers Market, Cornhole Tournament, Booiaka, Harrison County Boot Stompers, then Line Dancing and Paws in the Pool on Sept.13th
Amusement Rides by Fox Creek Amusements will be located in & around the new Scott County Farmer’s Market Pavilion & in the Parking Lot between the Justice Building & Scott County Attorney’s Office.
