NMAC Announces VaShawn Mitchell, New Podcast Guests, Conference App and Expanded Programming for 2026 USCHA

ANAHEIM , CA, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- NMAC today announced new performers, speakers, special programming and attendee experiences for the 2026 United States Conference on HIV/AIDS (USCHA), taking place September 16–20 in Anaheim, California, as the nation’s largest HIV-focused community gathering prepares to mark 45 years of the HIV movement.

Multi-award-winning gospel artist VaShawn Mitchell will perform during the conference’s closing plenary on Sunday, September 20. A Chicago native, Mitchell is best known for his chart-topping gospel hit “Nobody Greater,” which spent nine weeks on Billboard’s Gospel Songs chart and earned two Grammy nominations. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has received seven Stellar Awards and multiple GMA Dove Awards. Through his songwriting and dynamic live performances, Mitchell continues to inspire audiences worldwide.

The closing program, “Sunday’s Best,” will feature NMAC CEO Harold Phillips; Dr. Cary L. Goodman of The Balm In Gilead, Inc.; Dr. Geri R. Donenberg of the NIH Office of AIDS Research; Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi; and a closing performance by Mitchell.

New Podcast Guests Join USCHA

NMAC also announced several guests who will join “The Playbook,” a live recorded podcast created and hosted by Malachi Stewart.

Actor, producer, singer, writer, designer, activist and entrepreneur Tré Melvin; actor, singer, hairstylist and LGBTQ+ advocate Miss Lawrence; activist, author and public speaker Hope Giselle; and Dr. Dora Martinez will participate in conversations recorded before a live audience at USCHA.

“The Playbook” will bring guests together for candid conversations about sex positivity, community power, Black queer visibility, HIV advocacy and the issues shaping communities today. The program is part of the conference’s 45th anniversary theme, “United & Unbreakable: The HIV Movement at 45.”

Seating will be limited, with additional details on recording times, locations and audience registration to be announced.

USCHA Conference App Launches

NMAC is also launching the official 2026 USCHA mobile app, giving attendees a centralized way to navigate the conference and plan their experience in Anaheim. Attendees can use the app to explore conference programming, build personalized schedules, access important event information and receive updates throughout USCHA.
